Bebe Rexha

Bleta "Bebe" Rexha was born on the 30th of August 1989, in Brooklyn, New York City, New York and raised in Staten Island, New York City, New York to Bukurije Rexha (nee Isai) & Flamur Rexha. Her father immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 21. In the Albanian word for "blete" is "bee". She said, "My Albanian parents started calling me Bebe." Rexha wrote song lyrics for Nick Jonas's "Selena Gomez" as well as the Eminem & Rihanna track, The Monster (which won a Grammy Award in the category of Best Rap/Sung Performance). She has also written songs for Selena Gomez & Nick Jonas. Madekwe was born into an ethnically mixed family. She has a mother who is English while her father is Nigerian. She grew up in the south of a London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age 14. She studied acting in The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at the academy, she performed in several stage productions such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
